NAACP Butte County Branch 1029-B Receives the Dr. H. Claude Hudson Award

The Dr. H. Claude Hudson award is presented to the Branch that demonstrates the NAACP standards by speaking out on issues and focused programs within the NAACP National, Regional, and State plan. On October 22, 2022, 1st Vice President David Goodson accepted this award on behalf of the NAACP Butte County Branch 1029-B.

President Janet Goodson spoke on the the achievements of the local NAACP branch stating:

“We are a small branch but, I have learned that strength and success are not measured in the size of the object but, in its power, in its ability to cause and affect positive and influential change for the welfare and the well-being of others. With that being said, we are a mighty force to be reckoned with when social injustice lifts its head in our communities and in our county at large. We work very hard to have a seat at the table on various issues and to break through glass ceilings to fulfill the mission of the NAACP which is  to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of all persons, and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.”
