The NAACP Butte County 1029-B hosted their 4th Black & White Gala & Awards, unforgettable black-tie event on Saturday, October 5th at the Oroville Southside Community Center. The evening's guest speaker was President Rick Callender, of the NAACP CA/HI State Conference. Outstanding Achievement Awards were given in the following categories: Excellence in Education, Excellence in Social Justice & Advocacy, Excellence in Youth Empowerment & Advocacy, and Excellence in Community Grants & Scholarship Funding.
