Working Towards a Better Future

About Us

Founded on the principles of racial equality and justice, our branch is dedicated to empowering and uplifting the voices of the black community and other minority groups in Butte County.

As a vital part of one of the nation's oldest and most influential civil rights organizations, our branch is committed to confronting the unique challenges that come with advocating for racial justice and equity in a rural setting. Our mission is to ensure that every individual regardless of their background, has the opportunity to thrive without discrimination.

Our Mission

Our Mission

Our mission is to achieve equity, political rights, and social inclusion by advancing policies and practices that expand human and civil rights, eliminate discrimination, and accelerate the well-being, education, and economic security of Black people and all persons of color.

Our Vision

We envision an inclusive community rooted in liberation where all persons can exercise their civil and human rights without discrimination.

"We are a small branch but, I have learned that strength and success are not measured in the size of the object but, in its power, in its ability to cause and affect positive and influential change for the welfare and the well-being of others."

Janet Goodson, NAACP Butte County Branch 1029-B President
